3 WAYS TO NURTURE YOURSELF WHEN DEPRESSED

1. GIVING YOURSELF TIME AND ATTENTION

You may be so busy caring for others(family, friends work) that in the process you have become isolated and lonely as you have become accustomed to "NEGLECTING YOU" and now can no longer run away from the price you are paying for this. You may be "POURING OUT" all the time and now feel depleted, empty and lonely. Yes it is important to think about others but the question I have for you is when did you learn and where did you learn and consciously or unconsciously believe that "nurturing" others meant to neglect your physical, emotional and spiritual needs? You may not feel comfortable thinking about when and where this first started but it is important for you to understand that somewhere in your childhood you very likely received a message consciously or unconsciously that you were to nurture others and not yourself; which can lead to feeling lonely and isolated even when surrounded by people. It is time (OVERTIME) for you to begin to give yourself the time and attention you so desperately need(inside and out) without feeling guilt or shame as you learn to identify what and who (safe people) are nurturing to your mind, body and spirit,

2. TIME TO IDENTIFY WHAT IS SOOTHING

You may be so used to running around symbolically "PUTTING OUT FIRES" that you may not know what actually is "SOOTHING" and comforting for you but this can be a time to begin to identify and discover what feels :NURTURING" for you and to incorporate :" REST WITHOUT GUILT OR SHAME" but actually allowing yourself to have positive feelings as you discover what is nurturing to you,. So if you can begin to experience this as a journey where very likely for the first time you are going to allow yourself "TO BE YOU" and care for you from the inside out!

3. THERE IS LIGHT IN THE VALLEY

Although you may be lonely and depressed right now it is so important not to have a spirit of victimhood or self pity and to be grateful as even in times of great darkness there can be "light" and "hope". If you can focus on what you are grateful for that will help keep you having a more positive attitude even during a "difficult season". Please remember "you are a work in progress"! The truth is we really have the greatest opportunity to grow and learn about ourselves and others as we stretch past our comfort zones and this can happen only when we are in the valley not on the mountain top.

THERAPY IS TAKING A STEP IN NURTURING "YOU"AND SAYING GOODBYE TO DEPRESSION AND LONELINESS (It is a Process,)
